PRESS RELEASE

Acoustica to donate 10% of all website sales to Bob Moog Foundation in May

Moog Foundation Music Education Gets 10%

April 15th, 2016 Oakhurst, CA - Acoustica, Inc. is pleased to announce that throughout the month of May 2016, they will be donating 10% of all online sales from their website (www.acoustica.com) to the Bob Moog Foundation.

"At Acoustica, we feel it is more important than ever before to support educational programs that bring music technology into the classroom," explains Joseph Clarke, founder and CEO of Acoustica. "Our Mixcraft recording software is used in tens of thousands of classrooms around the world, and with funding for music education continuing to dry up, it is critical that we work together to find inventive new ways to teach kids about music. We certainly admire the Bob Moog Foundation's goal of expanding their innovative Dr. Bob's SoundSchool program nationwide by 2020, and want to do everything we can to further that effort."

"Bob Moog forever changed the way people make music," says Dan Goldstein, CTO of Acoustica. "The Moog Synthesizer permanently changed the sonic landscape of popular and progressive music. In so many ways, all of the virtual instruments and DAWs and studio gear we use today can be traced directly back to his visionary work in synthesis technology. Bob's 82nd birthday would have fallen on May 23rd, and we can't think of a better way to honor his legacy. We couldn't be prouder to support the Bob Moog Foundation and its efforts to teach children about the science of sound."

In addition to the donation, throughout the month of May Acoustica will be hosting contests and give-aways on their Mixcraft Facebook page (www.facebook.com/acousticamixcraft) to raise awareness of the Bob Moog Foundation, which has generously provided shirts, posters, and other prizes.

"The Bob Moog Foundation is passionately committed to providing innovative science education to as many children as possible through Dr. Bob's SoundSchool," remarked Executive Director Michelle Moog-Koussa. "Teaching kids the science of sound through the interdisciplinary approaches of music and technology helps foster both engagement in scientific learning and a quest for discovery and creative thinking. We are tremendously grateful to Acoustica for their support, which is an extension of their ethos to make the joys of understanding and creating music as accessible as possible. Their donation serves as an example to the music industry of creative ways to support our work."

The Foundation's other focus is the preservation of history through their work with the Bob Moog Foundation Archives, a collection of rare schematics, instruments, photos, planning notes, prototypes, and more. The Bob Moog Foundation is not affiliated with Moog Music, Inc. We are supported by donors worldwide, as well as by Spectrasonics, MOTU, Acoustica and other industry friends who are committed to innovative science education and giving back to a legacy that birthed an industry.
